VIN Number Location
The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is a 17-character code unique to your car. On European vehicles you’ll usually find it in several easy-to-check places — grab your phone and take a photo so you don’t have to write it down.
Common VIN locations
• Driver’s side dashboard (visible through the windshield) — look at the bottom corner where the dash meets the glass.
• Driver’s door jamb / B-pillar sticker — open the driver door and check the sticker or metal plate on the frame.
• Under the hood / strut tower or firewall — a VIN plate or stamp is often on the front strut tower or firewall area.
• Trunk latch area / spare wheel well — some models have a VIN plate inside the trunk near the latch or under the spare.
• Vehicle documents — registration, title, and insurance all list the VIN (easy backup if you can’t spot it on the car).
