In 1996, BMW gave the E36 a mid-year refresh that would enhance the design of the already well acclaimed vehicle. Some subtle but valuable upgrades were enhanced, larger kidney grilles, renewed side indicators as well as physical control knobs for the interior heater panel. These subtle, but modern enhancements offered the same character people came to fall in love with, while refining the driving experience.
