How To Hard Reset CCC iDrive
How to Perform a Hard Reset on the iDrive System
A hard reset of the iDrive system is necessary when the factory CCC iDrive system becomes unresponsive and does not respond to any inputs. Follow this guide to resolve the issue.
Warning: Performing a hard reset may clear all system settings, including factory navigation data. We strongly recommend having your Navigation DVD available before proceeding. While we provide this guide free of charge, we are not responsible for any data loss or damage that may occur.
Steps to Perform a Hard Reset:
1. Insert the key fob into the ignition and turn on the vehicle’s electronics, but do not start the engine.
2. Eject all CDs using the CD eject button.
3. Eject all DVDs using the DVD eject button.
4. Simultaneously press the radio power button, CD eject button, and DVD eject button.
After pressing all three buttons at the same time, the iDrive screen will go black. This is normal and may last anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes while the system clears its cache.
Once the screen turns back on, reinsert the factory Navigation DVD. Your iDrive system should now be fully functional and resolved of any glitches.
